Europeana Workshop, “Storing and collecting to promote cultural heritage”, presented by DPECH (October 05, 2021)

The Europeana web platform (Europeana.eu) is Europe’s digital library, museum, gallery and archive, providing online access to a vast store of cultural heritage material and collections from across Europe.

The project aims to empower the cultural heritage sector in its digital transformation developing expertise, tools and policies to embrace digital change and encourage partnerships that foster innovation. The platform makes access to cultural heritage easier for education, research, creation and recreation, contributing to an open, knowledgeable and creative society.

Europeana brings together cultural heritage professionals from all domains and from all of Europe through the Europeana Network Association, the Europeana Aggregators’ Forum, diverse projects and partnerships, physical and digital events and promotion campaigns. The founders imagine a cultural heritage sector powered by digital and a Europe powered by culture, giving it a resilient, growing economy, increased employment, improved well-being and a sense of European identity.

The workshop held by Altheo Valentini, Chair of the Educational Community of Europeana will describe Europeana’s format, a European good practice in the field of digital culture, and explain how to make a good use of this tool for educational activities.
